The first step of solving a problem is admitting you have one............

Open letter to John Daly from your fans,

Why do we love you so? Let us count the ways.....

1.You are overweight and bloated, so are we.......yeah!

Editor's note:

How that is possible with all the Diet Cokes and cigarettes you inhale, I'll never know. Whoops, forgot about the case of beer a day and Hooters sponsorship, I'm guessing you order the breaded wings....

2. You can still hit a golf ball 300 yards. We can't. You da man.

Editor's note:

Daly can't make a cut, but who cares about posting a score anyway.......

3. You've had 4 wives, Most of us have had only one. Man, I wish I could afford to rotate the stock like that.

Editors note:

Cost of alimony paid out could have supported The First Tee Project for an entire year.

4. Won 2 Major Championships. Most professional golfers can't say that.

Editors Note:

Daly's talent has never been questioned. Tiger Woods once said "if he had Daly's talent he wouldn't have to practice so hard."

5. What does Tiger know anyway? He's all focused and driven to succeed. He's not like us or John Daly.

Editors Note:

No, Tiger isn't like 99.9% of us, but if the top person in your field worldwide came to you and told you that you were more talented than they were, wouldn't that motivate you to be the best accountant, mechanic, seamstress, writer etc. that you could be?

6. We think it's cool for John to hang out during golf tournaments and drink with the fans in the hospitality suites.

Editors Note:

Really, is it cool at your job to start drinking in the middle of the day with customers? I can't say I ever walked into Target and seen the floor manager knocking back a few with customers during the 4th of July sale.

7. What's the big deal, he's not hurting anyone?

Editors Note:

There have been several accusations of pushing and shoving one of his many wives while intoxicated. But that pales in comparison to the mental scars he may be inflicting on his children. Ever seen your dad's mugshot on the national news before?

8. Well, he's got a big heart.

Editors Note:

No doubt, John Daly has given generously to many causes and charities. But think how much more he could have done if alcohol and poor decision making hadn't cost him his career and the potential for earning ten's of millions of dollars...

9. Well, he's just a good ole boy from Arkansas.....

Editors Note:

Not sure what that means. Some of our brightest minds and national leaders have come from Arkansas. Ever hear of the name Clinton? If the implication is that John is not smart enough to make good decisions then he should have hired some "good people" to help guide his career. I'd like to meet the person who thought it was a good idea for him to shoot the video of him playing golf with nothing but a pair of jeans on. Disgusting.

10. He'll calm down eventually, you can't go on like that forever.....

Editors Note:

No, you cant' go on like that forever. John Daly will die an early death and by the grace of God, not take anyone with him......

Final thought....

We have all been enablers for John Daly, however we should not feel guilty if his life ends tragically. He has the resources to turn his life around, but only he can decide to "drive the green" or "lay-up and play safe". Even par is always a good score.
