December 2008 Archives

 It's all about me...................

I know it's the Holiday season, a time for giving to others and peace and goodwill towards your fellow man.  I'm down with it but I'm looking for a little something on the comeback.

I've worked hard all year, I've volunteered, I've given time to causes, I've donated money to charities, I've held doors open for seniors and I'm generally kind to animals... unless they're dead and sizzling on my grill.....

Everyone in my house has a Christmas list and they won't accept one from me, so readers ,you are going to have to take one for the team and hear my demands.

 My Christmas Wish List.........

 1. My body will listen when my mind tells it do something

 2. My body will remember what my mind tells it to do without having to program it into my Blackberry...

 3. My posture will have angles, instead of curves and roundness

 4. Even par or better will be reality not fantasy. Just like the good old days

 5. My scorecard will have more circles than squares

 6. I will leave the golf course after a round with more dollars instead of less.

 7. My playing partners will quit calling me every day to play, it's embarrassing being known as "easy money"

 8. People will quit asking to see my PGA of America credentials

 9. I will stop asking my putter (out loud) to convince me why it should stay in the bag

 10. I don't want to be on my third ball on the 15th tee

 11. I want to wear my colorful clothes and not feel like a clown, but like a god^&**&%$ tour pro!

 12. I want members to whisper in awe about my game when i walk by, not snicker and give me the "L" sign. I can get that kind of treatment at home.

 13. I want to regale the listeners of ESPN Radio and my golf show with stories and anecdotes of my great golf moments, not share in their collective misery.

 14. Scratch the above, generally golf stories about "sucky" golf are much more entertaining than some windbag blathering on about his/her career round.

 15. I wish there were 28 1/2 hours in a day so I could justify a round of golf every week, instead of the pitiful 25-round pace I have set for this year.

 16. I hope the new president and Congress lead us out of this economic mess and we can all get back to having a little fun.

 17. I wish health and happiness to all of my friends and family who make every day a great day.

 18. I hope all golfers who have been to Myrtle Beach come back soon and to those who haven't, please visit soon. You can't really call yourself a golfer until you have been to the "Golf Capital of the World"

Peace and Goodwill to All!  See you in 2009!

 Bob Seganti, PGA
